Solicitors Benevolent Association
SBA The Solicitors’ Charity has been working at the heart of the legal profession for over 150 years. It is dedicated to helping solicitors both past and present, and their families, who are in serious financial need.
We determine ‘serious financial need’ by using research produced by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation’s Minimum Income Standard.
We can provide grants and interest-free loans (usually secured), support with career transition and access to bespoke personal insolvency advice. Talk to us, in confidence.
LawCare is the charity that supports and promotes good mental health and wellbeing in the legal community throughout the UK and Ireland.
Our key service is a free, independent and confidential Helpline, and our trained staff and volunteers have experience of working in the legal sector.
We offer empathetic support for work, emotional, health and financial problems, and we signpost callers to specialist support where appropriate.
Our Helpline is available 365 days a year on 0800 279 6888, and a wealth of information, including helpful resources and factsheets, is available to download from our website www.lawcare.org.uk

Solicitors Assistance Scheme
The Solicitors’ Assistance Scheme offers free confidential help and legal advice for all solicitors in England and Wales, their families and employees on any problem troubling them, whether personal or professional.
We offer a lifeline to solicitors with problems by providing a fellow practitioner who will listen and help. The SAS is independent of the Law Society and SRA.
